Five years ago, Uncanny Valley formed in a Sydney beachside garage studio when international dance producer Justin Shave (pictured left) and music supervisor/songwriter Charlton Hill (pictured right) decided it was time to put their collective investigations into music and sound to work.
Cut to 2015 when Uncanny Valley comprises of a multi-studio facility in downtown Sydney with an exceptional pool of talented composers, sound designers and engineers working on sonic branding projects the world over. Shave and Hill now also travel the globe consulting brands and speaking at events regarding the science behind music and its effectiveness in generating human emotional response.
“There are no real boundaries anymore as to what we do in terms of creating music and soundscapes to picture. We help all sorts of creative individuals to utilise the tools of our trade to tell stories and achieve their creative visions.” says Hill. “Emerging technology plays an integral role in our pursuits."
Shave explains the process behind these Friday musical vibes: "Okay, so when asked to present our playlist for the day we set a bunch of algorithmic spiders loose, incorporating such factors as time, space, life experience, level of influence, projected level of participant enjoyment, availability of streaming music service and a smidge of randomness. This is what they came up with."
May fortune shine on your Friday people, enjoy.
