Fresh Film director Richard Pullar has been busy of late creating content and stills for Dove’s Instagram page. Capturing engaging images that prompt followers to like and ultimately buy is a real challenge. Richard’s photographic work has long been admired, but this new project had to be approached differently from conventional pack shots.
So, instead Richard has not only supplied great visuals, but also developed some cute animations where the products interact with their surroundings.
In the stills the products are displayed to their best advantage. However, on pulling back the frame reveals more realistic life scenarios. The products embrace their user as opposed to try and tame them. This honesty and fun aspect to using beauty products relates to real people.
Encouraging followers to be themselves is a liberating message and will relate to so many. In fact it seems to be working as the page is already picking up lots of new followers as each new photo and animation is revealed.
This process has revealed that Richard should not only be considered as a director of commercials or a conventional photographer. He has embraced both disciplines for Dove’s Instagram page by creating captivating and compelling imagery that many brands would be delighted to share.
