Framepool/Fireflies/LBBOnline Challenge

The challenge was simple and didn’t involve riding 1000km over the Alps! We asked filmmakers to craft a piece of work showing their take on the meaning of ‘courage’ using a minimum of 20% stock footage, furnished by our good friends at Framepool. The theme was chosen to acknowledge the courage of people who overcome difficulties in their everyday lives and to honour the 10th anniversary of the Fireflies Ride from Geneva to Cannes to raise money for Leukaemia research.

A top tier jury was on hand to choose the winnerJake Scott (RSA), Olivier Altmann (Publicis), Ringan Ledwidge (Rattling Stick), Stefan Sonnenfeld (Company 3), Sandy Watson Scott (The Fireflies), Kim Gehrig (Academy), Wolf Jaiser (Framepool, 16tracks), Barnesly (The Mill), Piyush Pandey (Ogilvy), Steffen Gentis (BBDO). And the films came in from all over the world - UK, USA, China, Brazil, Germany, Japan, Indonesia, Spain, France, New Zealand and elsewhere.

The top films chosen will be shown at La Plage Courage Wednesday June 23 at 19:15 and the winner will be presented.

Thank you to Framepool, the only footage collection founded and run by filmmakers. Last year Kim Gehrig won a Silver Lion and the Young Directors Award for her film You Are Powerful for Amnesty International using almost 100% Framepool footage plus additional scenes she integrated in the footage sequences.

Will you be ready to take up the next challenge?
