FOX and space150 Take Technological Leap with AI-Produced Trailer for New Thriller Drama

To promote its new thriller drama 'NEXT', FOX partnered with tech-driven agency space150 to create a trailer that's been written, edited and scored by AI via a machine learning algorithm that watched the entire series and selected key themes, scenes and dialogue to comprise the spot.

The trailer marks the first time FOX is using AI to create an asset to promote one of its shows and a likely industry first for AI to create a trailer for network television. In America, the trailer can be viewed here.

For its part, space150 - who introduced the world to a deepfake known as Travis Bott earlier this year - analysed the show using facial recognition to find all of the scenes with the actors, analysing emotion for every frame of the show and building up an 'emotion index' for scenes. AI wrote the script for the voice-over using dialogue about AI, and even wrote the music.
