Jim Riswold, former W+K creative director (and 2013 One Club Hall of Fame Inductee) who was behind some of Nike's most iconic ad campaigns, recently gave a candid, inspirational talk about life as a creative director. During the talk, he said: "Ideas rule the day. The idea is more important now than ever. If you're advertising on the internet, your competition is free pornography... you have to come up with something better and more interesting than free porn."
Jim served as the first guest speaker for Odysseus Arms' (an independent ad agency based in SF) new Golden Bean Bag Lecture Series, which Odysseus Arms launched to help inspire and mentor the next generation of creatives by giving them the chance to hear from a celebrated creative director.
Agencies who came out to hear Jim's talk included ARGONAUT, barrettsf, BSSP, BBDO San Francisco, Browne, Camp+King, Cutwater, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, IDEO, Mad Dogs & Englishmen, Muse Design, Pereira & O'Dell, Hal Riney/Publicis, Swirl and Y&R. Click here to view the full length lecture.
