Football Legend Michael Ballack Makes a Surprise Visit in Latest DAZN Spot

Global sports streaming channel DAZN has teamed up with FAMILIA for a new campaign that stars German football legend (and recently appointed DAZN ambassador) Michael Ballack. 

The 30-second TVC, directed by Craig Moore, sees Ballack turning up to an unsuspecting couple’s home. Inviting himself in, the Germany and Bayern Munich legend leaves them awestruck - and further still when he settles down to join them on their sofa. Switching on DAZN, the unlikely trio kicks back to catch some of their favourite football action. 

Shot in Munich to navigate Michael Ballack’s availability alongside other actors flying in from Berlin and Hamburg, the film uses their conversations to segue into DAZN sports moments from various football leagues. Elevated by the actors performances, the brand messaging is presented in a friendly and casual manner - with a comedic touch. 

Director Craig Moore comments: “We planned for a number of scenarios due to us not knowing how the performances would turn out. However, Michael Ballack was great and we managed to capture some great moments that worked well between our three protagonists. The mix of performance and football moments creates a nice fast paced 30 that builds in pace and energy throughout.
