The new Australian short film, Flat Daddy has been selected for Opening Night at the 2015 St Kilda Film Festival one of the longest running and highest profile short film festivals in the world.
Starring AACTA, AFI and Logie award-winning actress, Kat Stewart (Offspring, Underbelly), Flat Daddy tells the story of an Australian military family and how a life-size cardboard cutout of the absent husband and father becomes a source of obsession, rupture and unrest.
According to the film’s writer director, Matt Holcomb, “I’m excited to announce that Flat Daddy has been selected as one of the Opening Night films at this year’s St Kilda Film Festival. It’s one of the world’s great film festivals, and being selected for Opening Night is a huge honour and a wonderful reward for all those who contributed to the project.”
Flat Daddy was produced by accomplished TVC producer, Annie Kinnane, and executive produced by Al Clark (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Chopper), and Kristina Ceyton and Samantha Jennings of Causeway Films (The Babadook).
The rest of the Flat Daddy creative team includes director of photography, Geoffrey Hall,ACS (Red Dog, Chopper), composer, Guy Gross (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, A Few Best Men), and Holcomb’s brother and longtime collaborator,Trevor Holcomb, serving as editor and co-producer.
