Strengthens programmatic buying and data offering with poaches from Starcom MediaVest and MEC

Fetch Announces Two Digital Hires

Fetch has further bolstered its paid social and data services with two new senior appointments - Jody Shilliday as its Head of Social and Dan Wilson as Director of Data Operations, a newly created role. The news marks a strategic move in the direction of deep data-centric programmatic buys aimed at effective user based targeting.

With almost a decade of social and digital experience, Fetch has hired Starcom MediaVest’s (SMV) head of paid social, Jody Shilliday, to spearhead its next phase of growth in the programmatic buying and social arena.

During her time at SMV she was responsible for its paid social strategy, planning and activation across multinational and EMEA markets for its client portfolio of over 70 clients in 130 markets, including: P&G, Samsung, RSA, Heineken, Capital One and EMI/Universal, as well as all new business social leads. Shilliday also sits on the UK IAB Social Media Council and the SMG Leadership Council as well as being a mentor for the IPA Creative Pioneers Apprenticeship Programme.

Prior to this, Shilliday worked at TBG Digital, she was instrumental in developing one of the first Facebook Alpha API providers.

Dan Wilson joins Fetch from MEC UK where, as Data Innovation Director, he worked extensively within all digital and data disciplines including Paid Search, Affiliates, Display, Retargeting and Real Time Bidding across a raft of clients such as COI, BskyB, Orange, Lloyds Banking Group, Specsavers, Morrisons, Nintendo and Johnson & Johnson.  In 2012 Wilson was chosen as one of the industry’s leading young talents and won Media Week’s 30 under 30.

In his new role, Wilson will work alongside the agency’s chief technology officer, Moin Maniar and will be tasked with providing insight, analysis and reporting across Fetch’s client base, including eBay and Hotels.com. Reporting directly into James Connelly, Wilson will be responsible for ensuring that clients’ digital data is optimised to achieve cost savings digital innovation.

James Connelly, CEO & Co-Founder of Fetch, commented: “Social and data are big growth areas for Fetch. We needed to choose the very best people to head up our teams and take our social and data offerings to the next level. We’re confident we’ve found them in Jody and Dan – both showed ability and experience along with an instinct for mobile. Together, we will continue to service our client base with user based targeting and the best in mobile innovations and strategies.”
