FCB today announced that current FCB Canada chief executive officer Tyler Turnbull has been promoted to group chief executive officer of FCB’s New York and Canada offices, effective immediately.
In his new role, Turnbull will be tasked with managing the FCB network’s New York and Canadian operations (which include FCB New York, FCB Toronto, FCB Montreal, FuelContent and FCB/SIX), in order to expand these offices’ capabilities, elevate strategic thinking and promote collaborative creative solutions for clients around the world.
One of the youngest and most accomplished CEOs in the FCB network, Tyler first joined FCB Canada in 2014 when the agency was in free fall, and subsequently spearheaded an ambitious three-year transformation plan. Under his leadership, FCB Canada has seen an influx in new business, bringing in marquee clients including BMO, BMW Canada, The Home Depot, Fountain Tire and Lotto 649. The network has also become a creative powerhouse, launching award-winning campaigns for the Canadian Down Syndrome Society (“Down Syndrome Answers”) and PFLAG Canada (“Destination Pride”) – resulting in FCB Canada being the most awarded Canadian agency in Cannes in 2017 and 2018, the three-time Strategy Magazine Digital Agency of the Year and – most recently - FCB/SIX being named Ad Age’s “Data/Analytics Agency of the Year” in 2019.
“Tyler is a champion of revitalising businesses and transforming them into top performers,” said FCB Worldwide CEO Carter Murray. “He is incredibly driven, fearless and talent-forward, recognising the importance of having a truly inspired and engaged workforce across the board.”
The appointment of Tyler will continue to drive FCB’s impressive success this year. Named to the Ad Age A-List for 2019, the New York office in particular has experienced a surge, picking up new assignments from iconic brands like LG and Canon, as well as global online gaming leader Unibet.
