Last week witnessed another massive upset in Malaysia with 100% Malaysian owned FCB Kuala Lumpur beating the odds to win A+M’s Malaysian Overall Agency of the Year beating out the larger, network-controlled shops.
On route to winning the Overall Agency of the Year title, FCB also came in first place in the Creative Agency and Content Marketing Agency categories, second place in Brand Consultancy and Mobile Marketing and third place in Direct Marketing.
In the same night, FCB was also awarded four gold, two silver and a bronze MARKIEs for its individual campaign work leading to the agency also claiming the Overall Creative MARKIE.
This is a huge win for FCB in Malaysia and comes after its local management team had purchased the agency from FCB Worldwide in 2017. In an on-going business arrangement with FCB Worldwide, FCB Kuala Lumpur remains an affiliate and continues to operate using the FCB name.
