Euroleague Basketball sponsor and Europe’s largest sports book bwin, today announced the launch of ‘10 Minute Madness' a new interactive digital game, which promises to transform watching basketball into a fully interactive event. The second screen social gaming platform created by ideas and innovation company AKQA, challenges fans to predict game events as they watch the action unfold in real-time, taking the Euroleague experience to a whole new level.
The ‘free play’ game is available across multiple platforms and has been optimised for use on iOS and Android tablets and smartphones as well as traditional browsers. Fans play for points each and every quarter by anticipating winning teams, scorers, scores and much more, connecting them to the action as it plays out. Correct predictions are converted into points and the chance to win exclusive prizes including VIP Courtside tickets for the Euroleague Final Four in London, signed jerseys, merchandise and regular season match tickets.
10 minute Madness creates a socially interactive experience for Euroleague viewers. Fans can get in on the action via twitter #makeyourplay. They can share their picks, boast about their predictive prowess and even chat with their favourite players and some of Euroleague’s biggest names throughout the season.
Commenting on the launch of the game Daniele Sano, Head of Sponsorship & Events at bwin.party said:
“Our aim is to bring the courtside thrill of Euroleague into the living rooms of our customers. 10 Minute Madness’ inspired use of second screen technology means fans are constantly involved in the action, with a stake in the outcome of each and every play. As we have already shown with our Playbook iPad app, our approach to bring real added value to our partnership with Euroleague and make a meaningful and longstanding connection with fans.
“This is consistent with our overall digital sponsorship strategy which is focused on enhancing the user experience through digital activation initiatives and through innovative concepts.”
Roser Queraltó, Chief Business Development Officer at Euroleague Basketball added:
“This is another great example of bwin bringing something new to the Euroleague experience, enhancing the action for dedicated fans everywhere.”
Based on the powerful insight that giving fans ‘skin in the game’ dramatically intensifies their viewing experience, AKQA developed the concept and set out to leverage the match feed available for each Euroleague game. This truly brought the multi-screen experience to life and engages every fan with the game as it unfolds on the court - every quarter, every game.
