Studio launches immersive interactive website exploring the League of Legends alternative universe

Iconic gaming studio Riot Games have launched their latest Star Guardian event for 2022. A host of characters from League of Legends, Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra are getting new Star Guardian skins and cosmetics, and new lore about this alternate universe will play out over the summer.

Star Guardian is one of the most beloved alternate universes within the greater League of Legends lore.

The home for all things Star Guardian will be starguardian.com. An immersive, interactive website created by digital design and creative production studio makemepulse showcasing nearly everything happening across all titles over the course of the event. Fans will find stories, music, videos, and plenty more on the platform.

The experience, which is available in 22 languages, explodes onto users screens with an interactive interstellar flight following two of the Star Guardians as they lead users to the central hub. The animation was created in NanoGL, makemepulse’s -inhouse realtime 3D rendering engine.  Depending on whether they are interacting from a desktop or mobile, they are directed to the relevant game’s “timeline” where users can find a series of hotspots (or star nodes) leading to the content.

From launch, some of the star nodes will be locked but these will become accessible as new features are highlighted on the platform and made available on a weekly basis until the event closes August 15.

Executive Producer on "League of Legends", Riot Games, Jeremy Lee commented: "Star Guardian is a world our players love and have been wanting to see more of for so many years," "We're so excited to be bringing it back in this big way, working with so many amazing partners to really show the potential of this universe to our players, as well as potential new fans who love this kind of magic just as much as us."

makemepulse CCO Nicolas Rajabaly added: “As big League of Legends fans ourselves, we could not be more excited to have lent our expertise to Riot Games and helped them deliver this event for such a globally beloved property.
