ESC Events Rebrands Creative Arm of Business

ESC Events, one of the UK’s premier event management companies, has rebranded the creative arm of its business which will now be known as Canvas (www.canvasevents.com).

The rebrand and accompanying website aim to give greater prominence to its creative offering and represent plans to grow this arm of the business.

Canvas creates tailor-made events for corporate and private functions, weddings and experiential-led events. It offers a strategic, one-stop shop that includes all aspects of planning, scheduling, logistics and delivery.  Above all it takes a highly creative approach to all briefs in line with a client’s objectives.  It calls this process ‘common-sense creativity’ – ensuring that what’s promised is practical and that the end result matches or exceeds expectations.

ESC Events will continue to exist and offer support services to the events industry on a bespoke basis whilst Canvas will provide the creative consultancy and full-service implementation that many clients require for their events. The businesses will work from the same client base.

Canvas will be headed up by Clare and John Wickens, who have been running ESC for 16 years as director and MD respectively. The pair will continue in their roles at ESC.

Canvas has adopted a fresh, contemporary look and feel for its branding. The predominantly white branding takes its lead from the company name ‘Canvas’, chosen based on its meaning as ‘the background against which events happen’, and a basis for creative work to take place.

The development also means the company will grow its workforce and has made two new appointments including Justin Blyth, who started in the industry with a 13 year stint at “rhubarb” food design, as business development director. Eleanor Bradfield joins as event manager from Farnham Town Council where she was project and events coordinator.

John Wickens, MD of Canvas and ESC Events, comments: “Until now, all elements of the ESC business have been promoted on an equal footing. Rebranding the creative arm as Canvas is an opportunity to shout about the fantastic team of creative and imaginative-minded experts we have in the business. Canvas is a great boost for the ESC business.”
