Stink Films shoots music video starring Juliet Cowan for LA PRIEST’s new single ‘It’s You’

It’s a story that’s been told many times; the star-crossed lovers, kept apart by the cruel world around them, misunderstood and rejected by society. From Romeo and Juliet, Heathcliff and Cathy, Tristan and Iseult; when two people from conflicting worlds collide, a great love can materialise, one that changes those within and outside of it. As is the case of Juliet Cowan’s Cleaner and LA Priest’s anthropomorphic fatberg.

A fatberg is a rock-like mass of waste matter in a sewer system formed by the combination of flushed non-biodegradable solids, such as wet wipes, and fat, oil and grease deposits; everything that a cleaner is trained and works hard to eliminate. Surprisingly, from the moment that these two sweethearts see one another through the grate of a drain, they fall head-over-heels for one another.

Stink Films director, Eoin Glaister tells us the love story of these star-crossed lovers, from their first meeting, proposal, romantic chats, arguments, he captures the heartfelt moments where gifts are exchanged and physical romance happens, to the penultimate end of the relationship and the beautiful outcome of this beautiful relationship.

Shot in London, over two days with a 16mm film camera, this 4.30 minutes music video is the second collaboration between LA Priest, the artist Sam Dust, formerly of Late of the Pier and Stink films director, Eoin Glaister.

“The first video I made with LA Priest involved letting an untrained pack of dogs lick Liver Paste out of his ears, so I was somewhat surprised to get a call regarding ‘It’s You’. Needless to say l leapt.” Said Eoin Glaister, director, Stink Films.

Eoin added, “The track is about someone falling in love with a mermaid but the time of year meant I kept running into safety issues with any water based ideas. A fatberg provided an altogether greasier route. A few Mighty Boosh references later and we were away. Eternally grateful to the fabulous crew who went above and beyond to bring this to life on Valentine’s Day and to our stars, veteran genius Juliet Cowan, and Vanessa Del Bosco whose zen-like patience made the project possible. Watch out for a fabulous Flusher cameo from LA Priest.”
