The internal campaign aims to encourage all eligible voters to register and vote on 3rd November after 58.1% of voting-eligible population cast ballots in 2016
Earlier this month, Energy BBDO launched a new 'Go Vote!' campaign across its social media channels. The campaign was born internally from a team with a strong desire to encourage all eligible voters to register and vote on 3rd November. According to the United States Elections Project, only 58.1% of the voting-eligible population cast a ballot in 2016's presidential election and we knew we could do better.
The campaign features 20+ custom designed gifs related to voting. In the first week alone, 'Go Vote!' gifs received over 48.9 million views on GIPHY
- a truly unprecedented stat for a brand new, organic-only channel. It's also been featured on @AnimateTheVote
next to groups like the ACLU, the NFL, HBO, and Buzzfeed.
In addition to living in-feed on Energy's social channels - Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram - the GIFs are also tied to Instagram stickers. You can find them on the platform by searching 'Energy BBDO'. Other BBDO offices such as BBDO New York and BBDO Atlanta have shared the campaign on their Instagram channels as well.
The variety of designs encourage voting by mail, voting in-person, and volunteering on Election Day. Certain designs were also executed in partnership with Spanish illustration duo, Cachete Jack. Energy BBDO will be posting the gifs up to and immediately following the election on its channels.
