The International Festival El Ojo de Iberoamérica announces the Presidents who will lead the juries in the selection of the best ideas for El Tercer Ojo, El Ojo Integrated Campaigns, Best Latin Idea for the World, El Ojo Content, El Ojo Innovation and El Ojo Brand Experience & Activation.
El Ojo de Iberoamérica celebrates its first 21 years with the communications industry, inspiring, training and recognizing the best ideas, the best professionals and the best companies for the work that each year, with the aim of stimulating, raising the bar and enhance the talent of Latin America. The Presidents this year are:
Laura Visco is Creative Director at 72andSunny Amsterdam. Before joining 72, he went through agencies such as Fallon London and Madre, among others. Four years ago she landed in 72ndSunny Amsterdam, where she acts as creative director of Uber. Before that, she was the creative director behind the "Find your magic" campaign for AXE, from Unilever, repositioning the brand as one that champions individuality and encourages guys to find their magic. Laura was nominated for Creative Director of the year by the American advertising medium AdAge, and was recently chosen as one of the 13 global creative leaders in Adweek's Creative 100. In recent years, Laura became a leader of opinion in the industry. She believes that brands can have a positive impact on society, especially when creativity challenges the status quo. With this thought she will be in charge of leading the evaluation process for El Tercer Ojo, El Ojo Integrated Campaigns and Best Latin Idea for the World. In addition, Laura will participate as a speaker in the Festival, sharing her vision with those present.
Claudio Lima is Chief Creative Director of Cheil LATAM, on his role he leads the creative department of Cheil Brazil and oversees creative development for Samsung on all the other LATAM offices. Claudio’s career spans 3 continents, from his native Brazil to Europe followed by tenure at such distinguished US based agencies like Wieden & Kennedy Portland, DRAFTFCB New York and Young & Rubicam Miami. During his career he has won a total of 56 Lions at Cannes. He was also a gold winner at the Cannes Young Creatives Awards in 2004, and 9 awards at El Ojo de Iberoamérica. He has also served as a jury member at the Cannes Lions in two editions, D&AD, One Show, CLIOs, El Ojo de Iberoamerica, Smarties, USHIdeaAwards and others. This year he will be leading the Jury that selects the best ideas for El Ojo Innovation.
Álvar Suñol is the Co-President and CCO of ALMA. According to the Big Won Directory ranking, he and his team were responsible for most award-winning radio and print campaigns of 2016 and made ALMA one of the 10 most awarded creative agencies in the United States. During his time at ALMA he has won 20 prestigious Cannes Lions, 11 Clios and 48 awards at El Ojo de Iberoamérica, which helped the agency to grow and become the largest multicultural agency in the United States, the Best US Agency in El Ojo and the second best agency in the region at El Ojo 2017. His creativity thirst has led him to lead agencies in Europe, South America and the United States, and win prizes for clients wherever he is. He has participated several times in El Ojo de Iberoamérica as Jury and won important awards throughout his career. He was highlighted in 2016 and 2017 as the Best Creative of United States Hispanic and in 2006 as the Best Creative of Mexico. Also in 2017 he was among the 2 best creatives in the region, alongside Luis Miguel Messianu, and both were responsible for positioning ALMA among the 2 best agencies of the region that year. In addition, he was the creative director of "Help Kenya not Kanye" and "Lecciones de Español" campaigns, which received the Gran Ojo Promotion & Activation and the Gran Ojo Interactive in 2016 and 2017 respectively. This year Álvar is in charge of leading the selection of the best ideas of El Ojo Content as President of the Jury.
FRANCISCO "PANCHO" CASSIS
Francisco "Pancho" Cassis is Executive Creative Director of LOLA MullenLowe and Member of the Global Council of the Network. Chosen as one of the 100 most creative people in the world in 2018 by Adweek, Pancho has been leading LOLA Madrid for four years. Since he started his career in Chile fifteen years ago, he has won 41 Lions in Cannes, 17 Grand Prix, 52 awards in El Ojo de Iberoamérica and more than 320 awards in the most important festivals in the world, including Gold awrds in the Effies, D & AD, One Show and Clio Awards. He participated several times as a Jury in El Ojo de Iberoamérica and his first Gran Ojo was in 2011 as part of the creative team of "Fiat Street Evo" in El Ojo Interactive for Fiat Spain. In 2015 he won two top honors for his work "Futbol vs Alzheimer" and "Doble placer" for Libero and Magnum in El Ojo Sports and Best Latin Idea for the World respectively. In 2016, his work with Libero earned him a new Gran Ojo for "Football Memories FM" at El Ojo Radio, the same year he was named Best Creative Director of Spain at El Ojo de Iberoamérica 2016. For the XXI edition of El Ojo will lead the judging of the best ideas in the region as President of El Ojo Brand Experience & Activation.
In the coming weeks the festival will announce the Presidents of the Jury of the other awards.
El Ojo has already opened the registration of pieces, campaigns and cases to participate in its 2018 Recognitions. Until August 10, the bonification of the expenses for the processing of material and the discounts for the amount of registered pieces, and until September 10, only the discounts for the number of pieces entered will be accessed.
