El Colony's Brad Parker has recently worked as a VFX supervisor on Ad Astra, the latest film from James Gray (The Lost City of Z, The Immigrant). Starring Brad Pitt and Tommy Lee Jones, the sci-fi film follows Roy (Pitt) going in search of his father Clifford McBride (Jones) twenty years after he left for Neptune to find signs of extraterrestrial life.
LA-based Brad worked as a production VFX supervisor on the film, with Allen Maris as visual effects producer and Christopher Downs and Jiwoong Kim as visual effects supervisors. Weta Digital, Vitality VFX, Mr. X, Method Studios, MPC, Capital T, Shade VFX and Brainstorm VFX are handling the VFX load.
Brad has worked on a number of major features as a VFX supervisor, and took a lead role working on this latest piece. He previously worked on War of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - during which he was also a second unit director. In-between features, he is also a commercial director. He has directed commercials and digital films for brands such as Nike, Nintendo, Sony, EA, Chrysler, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, Molson, Panasonic, and works frequently with Apple.
