Post-production house Uppercut strengthens its roster with the arrival of sought-after editor Edward Line. With an expansive and diverse body of work spanning commercials, music videos, comedy, and narrative films, Edward joins Uppercut for US representation.

Edward began his editing career in London, where he developed his craft at renowned edit house Final Cut before moving to Los Angeles in 2016. Since then, Edward has earned his place as one of the top editing talents in the US with commercial work for Nissan, Gatorade, Covergirl, Google, Facebook, and Mountain Dew. His passion for storytelling and deft sense for comic timing have led to his collaborating with some of the industry’s most prolific directors, including Traktor, Craig Gillespie, F. Gary Gray, Fredrik Bond, and Los Perez.  Edward also prides himself on cutting socially committed advertising campaigns for Ancestry, illuminating America’s diverse ancestral history; Sephora, celebrating transgender and non-binary communities; and Color of Change, which highlighted the importance of the 2020 US elections.

With a natural sensibility for music and visual storytelling, Edward first made a name for himself as a music video editor with work for Usher, Sia, Nick Cave, DJ Snake & Justin Bieber, and Rudimental. Also an adept narrative editor, his short films have been recognised at international film festivals, the Academy Awards, and BAFTA.

“Uppercut represents the next generation of edit houses, and I'm excited to be joining them,” says Edward on signing with the emerging creative powerhouse. “They have good momentum, and with their modern and welcoming offices, ethos to nurture young and diverse talent, and experienced management team, I believe they have the capability to compete with the top edit houses in the US. I’m really looking forward to welcoming creative partners to our offices, getting to know my new work family, and contributing to Uppercut's success."

Uppercut’s executive producer, Mila Davis, says, “Ed serves the story first and foremost, which is a paramount virtue for an editor. He has a natural ability to tell impactful stories visually and has proven himself across many different genres. His body of work is eclectic, versatile, and impressive - there’s nothing he can’t do! Everyone at Uppercut, myself included, is very thankful to have Ed on board our roster as our company continues to grow and evolve.”

Micah Scarpelli adds, “We’ve been very intentional about growing our LA team since opening our office last year. Ed is the perfect addition - he can work across any genre, creating films that pull an emotional response from any who watches. I'm looking forward to seeing what we can create together.”
