EA SPORTS Team of the Year Film Is a Love Letter to the Beautiful Game

London-based production studio KODE is proud to share the official launch trailer for EA SPORTS FC’s first ever Team of the Year (#TOTY) vote.

Another epic spot born out of KODE and EA SPORTS’ long-term creative relationship, the hero film, directed by Taz Tron Delix, is a love letter to the beautiful game. Entrenched in EA SPORTS easter eggs and global football culture, KODE’s intention to engage with the loyal FC community, hits the back of the net. 

A look-book of star-studded players, the film features the face of EA SPORTS FC 24, Erling Haaland, Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min, as well as young stars such as Jude Bellingham, Ousmane Dembélé and Florian Wirtz. Fans will also notice the introduction of the women’s XI for the first time, with Manchester City’s Khadija Monifa 'Bunny' Shaw, Chelsea striker Sam Kerr and high-flying winger Trinity Rodman making an appearance in the nominees list. 

Highlighting the depth and passion of EA SPORTS’ players and fans on both sides of the screen, KODE’s executive producer Matt Fleming says, “TOTY is such a huge celebratory moment in the EA SPORTS calendar, so to be able to work so collaboratively with the team again from creative through to post was special. For the spine of the film, we were able to bring all the joy of a CBS broadcast in the form of Kate Abdo, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards. Pairing this with the introduction of the first women’s XI and worldwide shoots across Seoul, Manchester, Madrid and Buenos Aires, we were able to deliver a campaign to the football community that feels truly global.”

Voting has begun and fans can see the full list of men’s and women’s nominees and submit their votes for the men’s TOTY XI here and women’s TOTY XI here.

The #TOTY vote closes Sunday January 14th at 11:59pm PST / 7:59am GMT (15th January) / 8:59am CET (15th January), giving the FC community plenty of time to share who they believe is worthy of making the final TOTY rosters across men's and women's football.
