Katz previously served as director of account management

Duncan Channon today named Jamie Katz as the agency’s first director of account management and operations. In this expanded role, Katz will be responsible for structuring client partnerships, managing client business relationships and optimizing team staffing and operations to deliver the best work for clients and opportunities for the agency’s talent.

Katz previously served as director of account management – heading up the agency’s 14 person account department and leading key client relationships. As part of her promotion, she will work closely with chief financial officer Renee Phipps and director of collaboration and equity Kumi Croom to assess each client account and ensure operations support the long-term health of the business relationship, as well as opportunities for teams to collaborate on breakthrough work.

“Creativity and collaboration have been at the core of the agency’s DNA since I joined nine years ago,” said Jamie Katz, director of account management and operations, Duncan Channon. “With significant growth and the addition of several practice groups in the last three years, I now have an even bigger opportunity to help those values flourish as we help our clients solve business and social impact challenges. The quality of our business partnerships and our team operations make that possible.”

The bridge Katz is building between account and operational responsibilities reflects an intentional effort by Duncan Channon to manage its recent growth sustainably and in alignment with its people-first values. Since 2018, Duncan Channon has grown its revenue by an average of 15 percent year-over-year annually, increased its headcount from 60 to 91 people, and added the DCLA social, influencer and experiential practice group, as well as a Data & Technology practice group.

“Jamie understands that running a smart business creates opportunity: for innovative client work, for fulfilled employees and for sustainable agency growth,” said Andy Berkenfield, CEO, Duncan Channon. “Her skill and vision for structuring and managing business relationships, and marshalling team energy for clients in clear-minded and thoughtful ways has been invaluable to our agency as we’ve grown significantly in the past few years. Everything she does is in service to the work and to the well-being of the humans who make it.”

In addition to her expanded role in agency operations, she will continue to lead the Ferrara Candy Co. account – which includes SweeTARTS and Black Forest gummies – and co-lead the California Department of Public Health COVID-19 vaccine business.
