Du Preez and Thornton Jones join RSA

RSA Films are thrilled to announce the signing of Warren du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones for moving image in commercials, special projects and music videos through Black Dog Films. 

 

Warren and Nick say: "We are inspired to be joining RSA films, their ability and philosophy to nurture and produce creative collaborations is very exciting for us."

 

RSA Films will represent Warren and Nick globally and are excited by the prospect of working with the talented duo – noted for their distinctive and experimental approach in multi-disciplinary visual communication.

 

Warren and Nick began their collaboration in 1998 through a shared fascination of the image-making process and the possibilities of combining their photographic and digital domains (Du Preez being from a photography background and Thornton Jones art direction).

 

It was, and remains, an incredibly successful and fascinating melding of skills and ideas that has resulted in a prolific output of striking and highly original artworks - for the worlds of beauty, fashion, music and film. They move seamlessly between these worlds, firmly cementing art & commerce in a meaningful way. 

 

They reveal their unique process of painting with light and form, combined with performance which “leads the viewer to share their landscapes of imagination”. This is in keen evidence in the numerous print, installation and film collaborations with the likes of Unkle, Bjork and Alexander McQueen, to name just a few.

 

Warren and Nick have created editorial for the likes of V Magazine, Nowness, Numero and iD and created advertising campaigns, for print and film - for Shu Uemura, Cartier, Hermes, Nike, Levi’s, Absolut, Sony, Mercedes Benz and BMW and Lancome.

 

Their latest piece, inspired by the work of Auguste Rodin, 'EREBUS' is a film adaptation of award-winning choreographer Russell Maliphant’s contemporary dance piece "The Rodin Project – can be seen here.

 

To mark the fifth anniversary of LUXURE magazine, SEVEN beautiful covers were commissioned for its FEARLESS issue - by Warren Du Preez & Nick Thornton Jones, Manolo Blahnik, Nicola Formichetti, Phil Bicker, atelier-lb, McAlpine Miller and David Downton.
