Whether you like it or not, Drum and Bass is having a resurgence at the moment, and personally I’m very glad it’s back!
In many ways, the genre that was synonymous with '90s UK rave culture never really went away, but at the moment we’re seeing it being brought back into the mainstream. I’ve picked out a few of my favourites from the CMP catalogue for you to enjoy, featuring some exciting new tracks as well as the odd classic.
Here are a few highlights:
The one and only Chase & Status are back with new music! Check out their latest single ‘Don’t Be Scared’, featuring long-time collaborator Takura.
We also have a track from multi-disciplinary artist Alewya, who teamed up with Drum & Bass producer Breakage on her 2021 single ‘Spirit_X’.
There’s also a bit of new Denzel Curry in there. Denzel teamed up with UK rapper slowthai on the track ‘Zatoichi’, which switches seamlessly between Hip Hop and Drum & Bass.
Any my personal favourite from the list is the collaboration that no-one saw coming, Mr Jukes’s jungle remix of Billie Marten’s ‘Liquid Love’!
