Today, Droga5 has announced another promotion within its senior management team. Chris Wollen, Head of Business Development, will advance as the agency’s first Chief Marketing Officer effective immediately. The promotion follows steady agency growth and several new business wins, including NRG, Scion and Viber, among others in this year alone.
In his new role, Wollen will continue to oversee business development while leading new business efforts with partners WME | IMG. Additional responsibilities include serving as the contact for global new business opportunities and regional agency partnerships.
Wollen joined Droga5 in 2013 as Head of Business Development after holding the same role at The Barbarian Group. Prior to his work with The Barbarian Group, he led a range of accounts at Grey and BBH New York. Since joining Droga5, Chris has steered the agency to approximately 30 new business wins and more than $45M in revenue. Droga5 houses nearly 500 employees in its New York headquarters and counts 29 clients on its roster.
“Since Chris arrived at the agency, he has led an incredibly successful charge, guiding our pitch process and helping us to pitch smarter, with a macro vision of the type of businesses we wanted to add to our portfolio,” says Global CEO Sarah Thomson. “The proof of his efforts is in the exponential growth we have experienced throughout the past few years and the quality of the clients we are fortunate enough to have on our roster now.”
