Familia and director Henry Dean's wild guide follows the different ways Dr. Marten wearers style the iconic boot

Dr Martens launches it latest campaign from FAMILIA, in conjunction with Breaks agency and directed by Henry Dean. It is a wide-eyed, wild guide for proud DMs owners across the globe, letting them know the best (and not-so-best) ways to break in their new boots.

A commercial that lets DM wearers across the world know how to, and more importantly how NOT to, break in their brand spanking new pair of Docs.

“Ever since I dipped my toes into the world of commercial directing, Dr Martens have been floating around the top of my list of brands I’d most like to work with. I was over the moon to be able to work with such an iconic company, in a style that feels true to my weird and wonderful mind. With this spot we got to embrace the alternative, keeping things funky fresh with a dash of heartfelt sweetness -- a recipe for excellence in my book. Disclaimer: No punk grannies were harmed in the making of this film.” Henry Dean, director.

“We wanted to make something that was a bit of a gamble for the DMs brand, a film that would stand out from the stream of daily content yet still maintain a refined, cinematic quality that reflects the brand’s iconic status. To do that we took inspiration from the wide-ranging gamut of Dr Martens customers to create a remarkable cast of characters, and sourced real-life methods of breaking in Docs that sat quite far left of centre. We put them together to form an instructional video like you’ve never seen before!”  said Henry
