Film from Goodby Silverstein & Partners and Clay Weiner tells the story of one student’s journey through a typical school day where he struggles to be seen for the unique person he is

Renaissance, a leader in pre-K–12 education technology, announces a rebrand and new visual identity reflecting the company’s transformational teacher-led learning ecosystem and demonstrating how the right technology can help educators truly see every student. The new brand identity embraces the company’s almost 40-year history as a leader in pre-K–12 education technology, while taking a fresh and forward-looking approach to the future of Renaissance.

The new brand identity will be unveiled as part of the company’s 'See Every Student' campaign in the coming weeks, which includes a newly designed website, social media campaign, advertising, trade show and conference activities, and a new brand film. Launching today, the film, which was developed by Goodby Silverstein & Partners (GS&P) and directed by Clay Weiner of Biscuit Filmworks, tells the story of one student’s journey through a typical school day, where he struggles to simply be seen for the unique person he is.

“I think we can all remember moments from our school days when we felt a bit at sea and the one teacher who really helped us feel seen in those moments,” said GS&P creative director Jon Wyville. “As we worked with Clay to develop the script, we talked a lot about John Hughes and all his funny yet deeply emotional films. We wanted to create a kind of day-in-the-life story of highs and lows in which you empathized not only with the student but ultimately with the teacher as well.”

“Our business has changed dramatically over the past few years,” said Sarah DiFrancesco, chief marketing officer at Renaissance. “The rebranding marks a new Renaissance, demonstrating how we help every student succeed by providing teachers and administrators with the digital tools they need to unlock personalised teaching.”

“As our work with Renaissance shows, we are partnering with best-in-class partners to unlock new value for Blackstone’s portfolio of companies by delivering world-class strategy and creative,” said Jonny Bauer, managing director, portfolio operations, at Blackstone. Francisco Partners and Blackstone, owners of Renaissance, hired GS&P for the rebrand, a project which started within GS&P’s Brand Camp offering.
