Director Thomas Bryant Joins Soup Film

Thomas Bryant is an award-winning director whose work is characterised by immersive imagery that presents moments on the boundary between reality and fantasy, fiction, and non-fiction. His work has featured in festivals and presentations worldwide including London Collections Mens, MAPS Festival (Los Angeles), Prague Dance Film Festival, ASFF, Rushes Festival, Creative Review, Campaign and Nowness. His diverse body of work ranges from fashion films for Nike and Sibling to commercial projects for Mini, The National Trust, Virgin Atlantic and Samsung. 

Thomas grew up on the British South Coast where he developed a love for the outdoors. After trying his hand as a drummer, he went to art school and then moved to London, where he started working as a director. His films draw on the experience of the natural environment and layer that into the scenes he crafts. Bryant’s attention to small details and everyday experience enables his work to enchant the viewer and weave them into the narrative of the films. He loves meeting people and hearing their stories. Outside of commercials Bryant is developing a series of films that explore the role of machine learning in our changing world, and as time permits, attempting to learn Japanese.

Thomas said: “I’m really excited to be working exclusively with Soup in Germany. Our paths keep crossing and it felt great to be back together. Isa and Ada have always been incredibly supportive, and I can’t wait to be making work with them again.”
