Director Raphael Ouellet Joins Sequoia Content

Starting his career as a photographer with a keen eye for portraits, Raphael has brought his love and curiosity for people to his commercial directing work. With a powerful visual style, and a talent for authentic human performances, his work explores people’s fears, inspirations, and always finds their humanity.

Raised in Rimouski, Quebec, he now spends his time between Toronto and Montreal. From bursting into the photography scene with his acclaimed photograph of Justin Trudeau, Ouellet has since directed commercial campaigns for brands like Air Canada, Penningtons, and Parks Canada. His short film entitled Simply was presented at the Cannes Film Market, and admired for it’s deeply personal examination loneliness and communication.

In his career, his film and photography work has garnered over 50 awards from organizations like CLIO, The Communications Arts, American Photography, and PDN.
