Director Quba Tuakli has teamed up with Deb Never to create a visually mesmerising dream world in latest video for the singer's track Funky.
Funky is taken from the alt-pop newcomer’s highly anticipated second EP Where i-love All The Flowers Gone* which is jam-packed with production collaborations with the likes of Jam City, Jim E-Stack, Luke Wild and Michael Percy and more, and is out now via Moonlanding.
The video shows what it’s like to dream of a world full of what you love, but waking up to a reality barren of any of it. In a sense we are all asking ourselves, ‘Where have all the flowers gone?' as we hang onto moments that make us feel alive.
Speaking about the concept and directing the video, Quba states: “The concept of the film is pretty simple; nurture yourself in a world thot wants you to conform, and chase your potential, even if it’s scary. Currently, I’m enjoying the process of character creation. Working with our lead Adam to realise the label exec character I dreamed up was the highlight of the shoot. Deb was a vibe to work with, affable and professional — when on artist is mingling with the crew and cracking jokes, everyone has more spring in their step.”
