Directing Duo Bedroom go Back to the '90s for Beabadoobee's 'Care'

Care, directed by duo bedroom is the first of a series of four videos with their long-time collaborators Beabadoobee and label Dirty Hit.

Shot in London in April 2020, Care proves the young duo’s adaptability to isolation filmmaking, instead of seeing the limitations of this shooting style they instead chose to amp up their reference to the lo-fi early 90s videos such as Pavement and Sonic Youth, an aesthetic which matches perfectly with the artists musical inspiration.

In a departure from her three piece set up Beabadoobee’s front-woman Bea Kristie is depicted alone, shot on 16mm with elements of hand drawn stop motion animation. Nostalgia plays a huge role here as we go between Bea go wild with her guitar to standing in the rain in a reflective manner, the video gets more and more energetic emphasised by Bedroom’s kinetic style and playful camera work adding to the fun atmosphere.
