Direct Line Group has unveiled that it will be hosting the insurance industry’s first ever hack in Europe today, in partnership with M&C Saatchi.
Following a briefing session on 10th September, the main hack is being hosted today in London. The event will see teams from a wide range of thought leading organisations including Google, MRM Meteorite, and Exeter University, compete to come up with the most innovative and marketable concept for using technology within the insurance sector.
Via the hack, Direct Line will be looking for fresh ways technology can be used, with an emphasis on concepts that appeal to consumers, answering their needs and making them feel comfortable with sharing their data.
The hack will be judged by: Paul Geddes, Chief Executive at Direct Line Group; Mark Evans, Marketing Director at Direct Line Group; Camilla Harrisson, COO at M&C Saatchi.
Mark Evans, Marketing Director at Direct Line Group, said: “There is incredible scope for technological innovation within the insurance sector, and by hosting this event we hope to drive our industry forward, and ignite greater exploration into where technology might lead us. We are very much looking forward to seeing what the teams come up with.”
Camilla Harrisson, CEO at M&C Saatchi, added: “M&C Saatchi has run two very successful hacks in the past, but this is the first time we have hosted one alongside a client. By focusing on creative and pioneering thinking, hacks offer a space where powerful ideas can germinate. Technology is constantly evolving and this event will help to reveal its wealth of unborn possibilities, both in the insurance sector, and beyond.”
