Butlin's, who have been at the heart of British seaside family holidays since 1936, have appointed Dept to develop their new website. The aim is to bundle holiday inspiration and ease of booking. Dept will not only be responsible for creative strategy, user experience design and visual design, but also build and delivery of the site and a completely new architecture.
Butlin's run three resorts in Britain and draw families to the coast all through the year. The new website will be based on the concept of branded commerce. It will be a place that inspires families looking for a break and invites them to book, plan, and organise their next trip right away. With the new design, every part of the customer journey will breathe the Butlin's holiday feeling: from the moment you book, to the moment you come home. From appealing resort entertainment pages to practical information updates just before departure.
Max Pinas, Strategist at Dept: “Butlin's have the ambition to appeal to new target audiences. The new website will play an important role. For us as an agency, this is a unique opportunity to work with a true heritage brand, a brand which is part of British culture.”
Dermot King, Managing Director at Butlin’s, said: “It is essential that we make it as easy and enjoyable for our guests to book a break, and having a cutting-edge website is integral to that. Online bookings have grown dramatically in recent years, and I am confident that by working with Dept we will enable even more guests to book a Butlin’s break.
