Deutsch NY Announces Free Weeklong Virtual Summer C.A.M.P. Open to All

D.NY’s Summer Creative, Advertising, and Media Program (C.A.M.P.) is an all-encompassing interactive crash course on the industry

Deutsch NY Announces Free Weeklong Virtual Summer C.A.M.P. Open to All

While Covid has closed many doors for students and recent grads, Deutsch NY has announced a free, virtual, weeklong program open to all: Summer C.A.M.P.

Summer C.A.M.P., which stands for Creative, Advertising, and Media Program, is designed to teach rising talent about the different disciplines within an agency and the processes that go into creating brand-building marketing communications. This program, unlike many internship or learning opportunities, is open at no cost or barrier to rising talent interested in learning about the industry. C.A.M.P. will be held August 2nd through August 6th, and participants are required to commit to the full week.

“The pandemic has presented many challenges for students,” said Celeste Bell, EVP, director of human resources. “But one thing we’re excited about is the ability to host a virtual community and share the wealth of knowledge and experience within our agency to anyone interested in the field and curious minds.” Interested participants can sign up for C.A.M.P. and learn more here, registration is open until July 28th at midnight.

Participants will hear from industry professionals at Deutsch NY about the day-to-day responsibilities of their roles and have the opportunity to connect with other students through interactive discussions, talks, and projects.

In addition to understanding the fundamental account management, strategy, creative, design, media, and production departments, participants will attend a Q+A with Deutsch NY CEO, Val DiFebo, and a Strategy 101 session with Karan Gera, SVP, group planning director. Students will also have the unique opportunity to schedule individual 20-minute meetings with employees at Deutsch NY for mentorship or portfolio reviews, as well as participate in a Trivia Game Night with information based on the industry and the sessions covered over the course of the week.

The week will culminate in a hackathon on Friday in partnership with Make Ads with Me, an organisation founded by Deutsch NY associate creative director, Jessica Lomasson, that aims to diversify the ad industry by helping those who don’t have the accessibility or means to attend portfolio school.

“I’m super proud of Rebecca Hoffman, our HR Manager, for designing this program with the intention of increasing accessibility to a broader, more diverse candidate pool,” said Val DiFebo, CEO.
