Deutsch LA announced today that it has hired Nick Velloff, a creative technologist with a long history of helping agencies and brands build digital experiences, as Senior VP, Creative Technology Director for the Volkswagen account.
Velloff previously ran a San Francisco-based consulting business that led digital development efforts for brands such as Lexus, HP, Sony, Coke, Warner Brothers, Nintendo, Travelers Insurance and XBox. Prior to that, he served as Director of Creative Development for AKQA DC between 2002 and 2006, working for ESPN, Vitaminwater and AOL.
“As Deutsch seeks new ways to invent for brands, it's vital that we explore and integrate new technologies,” says Trevor O’Brien, Deutsch LA Executive VP, Executive Creative Technology Director. “Nick brings an extensive background that merges both the creative and technology disciplines, and has long been at the forefront of exciting new technologies.”
As a consultant, Velloff’s roles include pitching, planning and strategy, team creation and mentoring, as well as managing the development effort. Leading agencies worked with him to help craft and execute immersive digital experiences.
Alongside Velloff’s agency work, he has served as CTO and founder for several startups, ranging in focus from a custom e-commerce platform to a mobile, collaborative based social application.
