Deutsch LA has flipped its Instagram upside down to close out LatinX Heritage month. By enlisting the work of four LatinX artists from around the world, the social effort titled, 'El Otro Lado' ('The Other Side') aims to visually showcase code-switching and represent the bicultural identities of six of Deutsch LA’s LatinX employees.
The work highlights a personal story or proverb that has shaped the lives of each employee, before artists Francesca Tiley, Daisy Rosas, Carmen Pizarro and Mariery Young interpreted them into illustrations.
To represent the two sides of each identity, each post will be released in a carousel of inverted images to encourage people to flip their phones upside down to experience the other side of the story.
The idea was born out of Deutsch LA’s LatinX employee resource group and will roll out this week on the agency’s Instagram channel.
