Appoints Danger Bea as EVP, executive creative director and David Measer as EVP, group strategy director

Deutsch LA announced today the appointment of Danger Bea as EVP, executive creative director and David Measer as EVP, group strategy director. Bea will join the agency on May 17, reporting to chief creative officer Karen Costello, while Measer officially joined on May 3 and reports to EVP, head of experience Ivan Perez-Armendariz.

“Bea is an incredible talent – a great writer, thoughtful and dynamic leader and super culturally-oriented – all which make her a great fit for both Taco Bell and Deutsch LA,” said Karen Costello, chief creative officer, Deutsch LA. “She will undoubtedly make a big impact, as she has everywhere she’s worked; we are beyond excited that she’ll help shape our next chapter.”

Bea joins Deutsch LA from BBH LA where she served as creative director. She will lead the creative team for Taco Bell. Previously, she held roles at creative agencies such as R/GA, David & Goliath and DraftFCB and has worked on brands like Google, Carl’s Jr./Hardee’s, Red Bull and Petco to name a few. In 2016, her work on Beats by Dre’s "Straight Outta" campaign garnered six Cannes Lions.

“I’m really looking forward to working with the team as we continue to cultivate Taco Bell and Deutsch LA as leaders in culture and innovation,” said Bea. “Between the people, brand and agency, it’s a dream role. And, if all goes as planned, we’ll have a ton of fun along the way.”

In addition to Bea, the recent hiring of Measer to oversee strategy for Walmart, signals Deutsch LA’s continued commitment to deepen its talent bench as business growth increasingly ignites momentum across the agency.

“David is not only a creative leader and storyteller, but also a driver of transformation and new ways of working,” said Ivan Perez-Armendariz, EVP, Head of Experience, Deutsch LA. “We’re excited to tap into his vast experience and unique perspective to drive retail innovation.”

Measer added: “My passion for storytelling led me to admire, and frankly, envy the team at Deutsch LA for their ability to innovate media spaces, connect with diverse audiences, and tell compelling stories across a range of platforms and channels. It feels like I’ve joined an all-star team—and I’m honored to be a part of this highly creative and effective group of makers.”

A documentary filmmaker turned advertising strategic planner, Measer previously worked at RPA as SVP, Group Strategic Planning Director. With more than 20 years of experience, he has been the strategic force behind some of advertising’s most iconic and longest-running campaigns including: the U.S. launch of MINI, Apple iPod’s “Silhouettes,” Jack in the Box’s “Jack,” Burger King’s “The King,” Kia Soul’s “Hamsters,” among others.

Experiencing growth across its roster, Deutsch LA has hired more than 130 employees since the start of the pandemic, including senior leaders Christi Clark, SVP, group account director and Reonna Johnson, VP, director of growth strategy in 2021.
