DentsuMB UK is putting craft at the top table with the appointment of its first chief production officer, Susie Innes.

Working alongside head of project management Barratt Mistry, Susie is tasked with building a makers’ culture at dentsuMB UK, where craft is prized and fought for. She will report to CCO Simon Lloyd and CEO Gareth Collins.

With nearly forty years in the business, Susie has built up vast experience and strong relationships across the industry. She started out as a PA at Grey, rising to senior producer; built a thriving department at DLKW as head of TV, before successfully merging it with Lowe, followed by long stints at Havas, Now, adam&eve and many more. Her extensive roll call includes work for major brands such as Unilever, P&G, Mars, Pedigree, Ford and Morrisons; legendary long-running campaigns like Halifax’s ‘Staff as Stars’ (yes, the ones with Howard Brown), and multi-award-winners, most recently 'Nobody is Normal' for Childline through The Gate. A beautifully crafted stop motion animation set to Radiohead’s Creep, the film was aimed at young people struggling with body image, sexuality, gender identity and mental health issues to show they are not alone, picking up accolades at Cannes Lions, D&AD, Creative Circle, Clios, Kinsale Sharks and more.

Susie will lead and cover all elements of production for global and domestic clients including Coca-Cola, Generali, Asahi, DAZN, Amex and Halfords; building a team across Manchester and London and collaborating with experts across dentsu Creative in digital, experiential, editorial, content and experience.

Simon Lloyd CCO DentsuMB UK said: “I have an ambition to creative the most diverse creative department in the industry. Both in terms of people and the work they do. And we want our people to do the best work of their careers at dentsuMB. A place where creative excellence is paramount and the craft is nurtured from film to design, editorial to transformation. These aren’t just nice words; I think our latest work has genuinely surprised people and shows we’re well underway to making this a reality. Bringing talent in with Susie’s experience and calibre, will help us get there faster.”

Susie Innes added: “I’ve turned down some big roles in the last few years, but dentsuMB feels fresh and vibrant. The people are delightful, the energy and drive really seductive. There is excellent creative ambition, a belief in the power of production and a lot of challenges to get stuck into. I hope to harness all my experience and find ways to explore interesting and exciting new approaches, integrating our assets to build something we can be proud of.”
