Dentsu Welcomes The Philippines’ Top Creative Duo

Gary Amante & Rey Tiempo join as ECDs

Dentsu Welcomes The Philippines’ Top Creative Duo

Dentsu  today announced the appointment of Gary Amante and Rey Tiempo as joint executive creative directors at Dentsu Phillipines. The pair will take over the reins at Dentsu Philippines in mid-February.

Gary Amante and Rey Tiempo have been working together as partners for seven years, and have created global as well as local campaigns for brands such as Johnson and Johnson, Pepsico, Bayer, FedEx, Pizza Hut, Mitsubishi Motors, P&G, and Ayala Land.

Consistently ranked as the Philippines’ top creative directors, their ‘Persistent Headache’ series for Bayer’s analgesic Saridon has made The Gunn Report's list of Top 50 ads in the world. Their film campaign earned recognition as the most awarded in the Philippines.

The pair's body of work has been doing the rounds at major international awards, including Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, Clio, London International, Spikes, Adfest, AWARD, and Adstars, as well as local award shows Araw, Kidlat and Tinta.

“I brought Ted Lim and Ujjwal Sarao on board last year in newly created positions of Chief Creative Officer and Head of Talent for the region, as part of our focus to build on human capital, talent and acquisition. As we continue to scale our business, attracting top talents like Gary and Rey enables us to continue to grow the breadth and quality of our work beyond what any agency can do,” said Dick Van Motman, CEO, The Dentsu Aegis Network/SEA.

Together with media, technology, and content, creativity is a key pillar of Dentsu’s strategy to deliver innovative, results-driven solutions for clients. Since the appointment of Ted Lim as Chief Creative Officer in April 2013, the company has turned its attention to growing its creative leadership team in Asia. In November 2013, the agency added four new creative leaders – Ng Heok Seong (Dentsu Singapore), Andy Soong (Dentsu Alpha, Vietnam), Chow Kok Keong (Dentsu Utama, Malaysia) and Joey Ong (Aspac, a Dentsu affiliate in the Philippines).

Ted Lim, Chief Creative Officer, Dentsu Asia added, “ This is an exciting time for us. I’m thrilled to welcome   Gary and Rey into the Dentsu family. They are global creative talents with a proven track record in content, media and technology. Their passion will help drive our innovation agenda to generate creative business solutions for our clients across the region.”
