Today, DENTSU CREATIVE announces its headline partnership with the UK Creative Festival (UKCF). It’s only been two months since Dentsu International launched its new and sole global creative network, DENTSU CREATIVE, but it’s already showing its commitment to UK creativity and diverse future generations of talent by supporting the two-day, Margate based event. Showcasing some of the country’s biggest and brightest talents, the UKCF also hosts a careers fair, which young people from across the country can attend for free, to find out about the businesses, people and opportunities that are out there, for them, in the UK creative industries.

James Morris, CEO EMEA & UK, DENTSU CREATIVE said, “It’s important that we celebrate the best of the UK creative industries today, but encouraging the pirates, mavericks and disruptors of the future is what matters most.” Morris added, “Modern creativity comes from everywhere and everyone, not just the privileged few. So we’re delighted to do our part to support the equal access and opportunity for talent that is fundamental to the health of the industry and the quality of our work.”

As well as bringing exciting talks to the two main stages, DENTSU CREATIVE will host workshops in the UKCF careers fair with creatives from across their Brand, Entertainment, Experience and Earned teams. They will then work with up-and-coming talent on an interactive App, where they can share and develop their ideas with agency creatives. A small group will have the opportunity to attend a taster day at DENTSU CREATIVE, where they will present their work; with two winners offered a placement.

Sue Higgs, ECD, DENTSU CREATIVE UK added, “DENTSU CREATIVE is in a unique position to talk to young talent about modern creativity; creativity that creates culture, changes society, invents the future… from developing entertainment formats and production, to producing magazines and podcasts, writing and design, to influencer and talent management, creating digital and in real life experiences, and of course, brand advertising, we can offer those who wish to pursue a creative career the opportunity to work on live briefs with our creatives as well as be set briefs on topics that matter to society today.”

Jeremy Green, CEO, UK Creative Festival, said, “We are thrilled that DENTSU CREATIVE have chosen to partner with us this year, to support and nurture young creatives at the UK Creative Festival. After an exciting year so far for the Global Creative Network, DENTSU CREATIVE is helping to open doors and break down barriers to a whole new generation of young creatives, and that is truly invaluable.”

This panel will discuss the implications and opportunities the Metaverse presents the creative industries including where the opportunities lie.

Led by Ete Davies, COO, DENTSU CREATIVE EMEA, Why representation matters in Creative Leadership discusses how representation in all areas of our professional and person lives matters – it plays a critical foundational role in moving us towards a society that reflects itself at all levels: it is evidence in action, powerful in practise and offers true inspiration for the next generation.

Chris Kenna, founder of Brand Advance Group said, “In todays world - where it can feel like we took two steps forward and three backwards - it is even more vital that representation in creativity is forefront. More than ever brands and creative teams are 'expected' to represent the very customers they are looking to engage with and nothing does this better than the creativity to inspire, to engage and to be part of culture. I look forward to unpacking this topic on one of the biggest creativity stages in the industries calendar.”

All of the creative industries share the same challenge – how to grow their relevance, their creative edge and their vision in an increasingly complex and ever-changing landscape. Adah Parris, chair of the Centre for Cultural Value Advisory Group believes the answer to this challenge is ‘Cyborg Shamanism’: a deep but subtle fusion of the intersection of ecology, technology, innovation and art. When embedded effectively into the heart of organisations ‘Cyborg Shamanism’ can transform thinking, cultures and futures. Cyborg Shamanism – is it the future for the creative industries? will look at why the creative industries urgently need to rethink their approach to the present, in order to redefine their future.

Adah Parris, chair of the Centre for Cultural Value Advisory Group said, “As we emerge blinking from the latest global pandemic, I believe that there is only one question that we should be asking ourselves. "What type of ancestor do we want to be?" I'm excited to be joined at the UK Creative Festival stage by social change creatives Natasher Beecher and Jonathan Nwauzu. We'll we weave a tapestry of conversation, ideas and ask questions about the role of ecology, technology, innovation and art in our quest to be better and do better in the creative industries… I'm curious to see where we end up.”
