Deep Focus Hires Award-winning John Reid as US Chief Creative Officer

Digitally led creative agency Deep Focus today announced the appointment of John Reid as US Chief Creative Officer. Reporting to CEO Ian Schafer, Reid will be responsible for driving creative vision for the agency’s North American offices.

“John’s unique mix of traditional and digital brand-building experience makes him well-positioned to further establish Deep Focus as a world-class integrated creative agency,” said Schafer. “Not only will he push the limits of the great work we’ve become famous for, but he will also be a beacon for great talent. John will also help to provide even more momentum as we purposefully blur lines between ‘traditional’ and ‘digital’ brand-building.”

Reid will lead Deep Focus' creative team to even-better serve the agency's world-class clients, which include Frito-Lay, Nestlé, Intel, Purina and eBay. Reid— who already has a long pedigree of groundbreaking, renowned work— will help the agency develop progressive strategic and tactical plans for its clients.

Prior to joining Deep Focus, Reid served as EVP, Chief Creative Officer at Wunderman, where he led the agency’s creative vision, delivering award-winning work for the likes of The Ad Council, Audi, Johnson and Johnson, E*Trade, Pfizer and Procter & Gamble, among others. In addition to Wunderman, he has also held senior creative positions at some of the country’s best agencies, including McCann, ATTIK, CP+B and AKQA. Through working with these agencies, Reid has handled creative for other global brands, such as Microsoft, Tivo, Visa, Best Buy and Hewlett Packard.

Reid’s work has been recognised by national and international award shows, including Cannes Lions, The Clios, ADDYs, Webbys, and MIXX, among others. A creative industry authority, he’s been a judge at numerous awards shows including the Cannes Lions, the Clios, and the One Show.
