The new work from visual effects maestro Jon Yeo in collaboration with the folks at Platige Image is a treat for the eyes. What appears to be a cave like structure on some faraway planet slowly zooms out to resemble the inner ear.
“Using the cave structures as a visual metaphor for the inner ear is an inventive and elegant solution. The undulation of the surfaces is inherently fascinating to look at, particularly as we move through the spaces with a fluid camera. It also creates a spatial volume within which an aural story can play out.” - Jon Yeo, director.
Jon wanted the caves to be visually appealing and full of colour, utilising space and lighting.
Jon adds: “We wanted to keep the visuals in an appealing space. The canyons and caves won’t be dark, dingy and damp. They will be warm, sculptural and captivatingly beautiful.”
Otex project was a very creative and interesting adventure for us. This category usually uses totally different types of communication, different codes and it’s quite literal. This time we had a chance to be a part of artistic, subtle and at times even poetic production that finally appears to be a commercial with rational benefits but still takes us for a beautiful, visual journey. It was a 100% CG project so we're also very happy that together with the wonderful director we created such a world from scratch keeping it photoreal, detailed and believable both visual and audio wise”: Agnieszka Gorna, producer.
