Celebration of leadership, business acumen and digital innovation

Debbie Ellison Named Chief Digital Officer 100 by Hewlett Packard Enterprise

VMLY&R COMMERCE global chief digital officer Debbie Ellison has been recognised as a world leading chief digital officer 2022 by Hewlett Packard and thought leadership platform, where one hundred chief digital officers were selected worldwide for remarkable efforts in bringing business acumen, digital innovation and sound leadership to their teams and organizations.

Debbie joins an extraordinary collection of chief digital officers from some of the world’s most iconic businesses including: Asmita Dubey, L’Oréal; Barbara Martin Coppola, IKEA; David Tyrie, Bank of America; Edward Kummer, General Motors; Lidia Fonseca, Pfizer; Scott Zalaznix, adidas.

Celebrating Debbie’s recognition, Beth Ann Kaminkow, VMLY&R COMMERCE Global CEO has said: “We see creative commerce as a tremendous growth driver for business. At its heart lies digital transformation and the power to convert in the moment.  Debbie’s extraordinary pioneering ability, her effortless ease in bringing inspirational business solutions to the table, and her generosity of spirit in bringing people along on the journey, make her a very rare commodity. I am incredibly pleased to see the industry recognize her in this way.”

Winners faced tough criteria: combined business acumen with ability to deliver innovative strategies in unique ways; known thought leadership showcasing the value of digital capabilities to wider audiences; skilful collaboration with different departments to enable the digital experience across the organization, services, and products, and finally, acceleration of digital innovation to broaden positive impact solutions, sustainable practices and a more inclusive working environment.

A panel of six selected the winners. This included Cindy Hoots, CDO and CIO, AstraZeneca; Monika Schulze, Head of Customer and Innovation Management & Member of the Executive Team, Zurich Insurance; Karl Hoods, Chief Digital and Innovation Officer, BEIS; Sherry Aaholm, CDO, Cummins and Charlotte Baldwin, Chief Digital, Information and Transformation Officer, Bupa Insurance.

“I will never give up on my passion to help create the most inclusive experiences for all.  We help our clients to understand people and communities' needs better, to create more culturally relevant, personalised, and connected commerce experiences.  I’m very lucky to lead our digital capability which is the very best vehicle to achieve all of this,” commented Debbie.
