DDB Worldwide today announced that iCrossing’s Mark Mulhern will assume Chief Executive Officer at We Are Unlimited, the designated full-service advertising agency for McDonald’s in the US. Effective January 8th, 2018, Brian Nienhaus, the agency’s current Chief Executive Officer, will hand over the reins of the agency that he helped build since its launch one year ago.
Wendy Clark, Chief Executive Officer of DDB North America, stated, “Mark’s unique background, anchored in traditional creative excellence and most recently extended into data-driven media thinking across the customer journey, makes him the perfect leader for Unlimited as we move into phase two of the company’s development. At the same time, we want to thank Brian enough for the contributions he’s brought to the table during phase one of Unlimited’s journey.”
Mulhern, an experienced agency executive, has been President of iCrossing New York, a Hearst-owned agency for the past 2.5 years. During this time, the agency was recognised as an Advertising Age 'Agency to Watch' in 2017 as well a 'Leader' in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for global digital marketing agencies.

Prior to iCrossing, Mulhern spent three years at BBDO as an Executive Vice President driving award-winning work and strong business growth on Mars’ Pet portfolio, which spans multiple brands including Cesar and Pedigree. He also ran the pro-bono Autism Speaks account and led their Cannes Lions winning MSSNG campaign. Prior to BBDO Mulhern spent close to three years at JWT as Business Director on the Microsoft Office account delivering campaigns for Domestic and Global markets. He moved to the US to join Anomaly and launch the Virgin America airline. Prior to moving to the US Mulhern was at AMV.BBDO, latterly leading the day to day efforts on the IPA Effectiveness award-winning 'Try Something New Today' campaign for Sainsbury’s featuring Jamie Oliver.

Nienhaus will be taking a new role within OMC that will be announced later.
