DDB Sydney has won three Gold Pencils at The One Show 2020, three Graphite Pencils at D&AD and eight Gold Pencils at the 2020 AWARD Awards.
The Pencil-winning entries at The One Show were chosen from a pool of 20,000 from 75 different countries, making it one of the most difficult to win.
DDB Sydney’s Grave of Thrones campaign for Foxtel, which saw the agency build a 2000 square metre graveyard to pay tribute to the bloodshed of more than 100,000 deaths during the series of Game of Thrones, received Gold in Brand Installations, Gold in Craft/Art Direction, Gold in Experiential and Installations and a Merit in Non-Traditional and Guerrilla Marketing.
The win comes hot on the heels of DDB Sydney’s success at D&AD where Grave of Thrones earned an additional three Graphite Pencils and its Up, Up and Toupee campaign for Virgin Australia earned a Merit in the Craft/Visual Effects category.
Additionally, the agency had one of its best showings at the 2020 AWARD Awards earning eight Golds, nine Silver and 11 Bronze across its suite of clients, including McDonald’s, Westpac and Virgin Australia.
DDB Australia chief creative officer Ben Welsh said: “I have never known a week quite like this. Great ideas are no use if we can’t sell them and make them and behind every award is a great team of people, not just here in the agency; it includes clients and production partners. I’m proud to say this could be one of the most prosperous weeks in DDB Sydney’s history.”
