Last night saw the belated British Arrows 2020 host their annual awards, with a notable difference! The event was hosted brilliantly online, led by Chairwomen Jani Guest and Clare Donald, alongside comedian Richard Ayoade.
British Gas 'Two Sides of the Story', directed by David Stoddart, won the coveted Silver Arrow in the Financial and Corporate Services Category. The British Gas film’s clever construct highlights the impact of caring on unpaid carers and packs an emotional punch to remember. The film has already won Best Charity Film at the Charity Awards, a Campaign BIG award and ‘Best Marketing for Good’ Cinema Campaign at the Digital Cinema Media Awards.
‘What makes this so significant’ says MD Matt Brown (who exec produced the project), ‘Is that we were one of only a couple of small/medium-sized production companies to be awarded last night. It’s such a strong film with a powerful message and I’m delighted for everyone involved that it has yet again been recognised’.
The film was created by Ogilvy UK and Hogarth and produced by Phil Burgess at Dark Energy. A big thank you to Katharine Cowell and Jeremy Dunn, who exec produced the project for Hogarth, and to Creatives Nina Taylor and Luca Corteggiano at Ogilvy. A further shout out to the brilliant Katie Moriarty-Hopper, who cast the film through Raw Research.
Dark Energy also had their film 'It Must Be Love: In Support of the NHS' shortlisted in the Made in Lockdown Category. The film was Produced by Dark Energy's EP, Anna Allgrove, and Ollie Allgrove, alongside Mark Jermin Stage School, Whitehouse Post, and Finger Music.
