Dan French, a multi skilled new director has joined Papaya London for representation for
music videos and content. Dan came to Papaya’s attention after winning the Papaya Rocks film festival back in February at the Genesis Cinema in Whitechapel. His short film, ‘
Living on the Edge’ captivated viewers by taking them on a highly dangerous - and illegal - journey with some daredevil photographers to the top of London’s skyscrapers and to the depths of London disused tubes.
His most recent achievement is creating a new short film, ‘Speak’, which is an existential wonderment made entirely by himself shot during lockdown. Gaining valuable experience in the industry, Dan took the path of runner developing into a treatment designer. He has learnt his craft from other directors until finally making the leap to work as an independent director.
Along the way, he has worked with brands like Huawei, Moet, Toyota, Paco Robanne, French Connection and more. Along with creating music videos for Nyge x Rushy and Reece Bahia through Virgin EMI.
Dan said: "I'm excited to take the next step working with Papaya and create some awesome content together. Going forward I will be working on music videos with Papaya, bringing with me my love for narrative, fast-paced camera work and edit style. We've just finished a music video created during lockdown which was made entirely from archive footage and animation - pushing the creative limits of what's possible during a period where shooting was impossible"
Pilar Muro, head of music videos at Papaya London added: "I am very excited that Dan is joining our music video roster. He is a natural storyteller; the narrative, cinematography and actors' direction stand out in his videos. The infallible blend of his talent and his professionalism makes working with him a super easy and inspiring experience. I am sure we are going to have new fresh work to show soon."
