Cutting Through the Noise

Sometimes it’s hard to find the tunes that you really connect with. Every hour, 1,000 songs are uploaded to Spotify, Apple Music, Napster, Deezer and all the other DSPs. That’s 24,000 songs – EVERY SINGLE DAY. A lot to get your ears round, and I don’t know about anyone else but listening to lots that doesn’t inspire me just makes me feel, well, just a bit uninspired…

But then you stumble across something that wakes you up. It might be a new sound you’ve not heard before, a lyric, or something indescribable. You’re then taken down rabbit holes, finding everything else the artist has ever released, who they’ve collaborated with and what’s their story. You’ve got the feeling again.

So here’s a short list of tracks that have had that effect on me recently. Some brand new, and some I’ve only just discovered. If you’ve also been feeling a little uninspired, I hope they wake you up a bit too…
