Noted Editor Stephen Jess has joined Cut+Run. His gift for uncovering authentic human moments shines through in his projects for Google, AT&T, Subaru, and American Express.

“Stephen combines outstanding talent, genuine warmth, and wisdom in his everyday interactions and his work,” says Cut+Run Partner Jon Grover. “We are proud of the community we’ve built here and for so many reasons Stephen is an amazing addition to the Cut+Run team.”

Belfast-born Jess began his career at The Mill London before moving to the US where he honed his gift for storytelling. Stephen enjoyed successful tenures at Lost Planet and the Whitehouse before becoming a founding partner at WAX. A longtime Brooklynite, his work has taken him around the world from Brazil to Japan. Based out of Cut+Run New York, he will be available on location and throughout the Cut+Run network.

“I am honoured to be associated with the Cut+Run brand and it’s the perfect time to take my path onward with people I have known and respected for many years,” explains Stephen Jess. “To be working with my peers here feels right and wonderful.”

Jess received wide acclaim for the feature doc, “Glass: A Portrait of Philip in Twelve Parts,” directed by Academy Award®-nominated Scott Hicks. In addition to short and long-form narratives, Stephen’s passion for portraits and storytelling is evident in his still photography. He finds inspiration at the International Center For Photography (ICP) and on the streets of New York.
