“We recognise agencies and brands in some regions are under financial pressures due to currency devaluation, and don’t want fees to be a barrier to entry”

In recognition of financial challenges faced by agencies and brands whose local currency has been devalued against the US dollar, The One Club for Creativity has announced adjusted fees for The One Show 2021 entries received from 25 countries.

A 15% reduction will be applied for all One Show 2021 entries received from Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, Ukraine and Venezuela. Qualifying for a 10% reduction are entries received from Azerbaijan, Brazil, Egypt, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Moldavia, Oman, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Taiwan and Vietnam.

“We recognise agencies and brands in some regions are under financial pressures due to currency devaluation, and don’t want fees to be a barrier to entry”, said Kevin Swanepoel, CEO, The One Club. “As a non-profit whose mission is to support the creative community and celebrate great work, we’re committed to levelling the global playing field and finding ways to help creatives get the recognition they deserve.”

Kevin went on to call upon other awards shows to do the same.

“Helping the industry is absolutely the right thing to do, and we challenge other shows to follow our lead,” added Kevin. “Agencies and brands shouldn’t be penalised for currency issues in their countries.”

The One Show 2021

After providing the creative community with this year’s largest global awards show and definitive international and regional creative rankings, The One Club for Creativity has opened the call for entries for The One Show 2021.

Notable changes have been made to help agencies and brands who continue to be affected by the global pandemic. In addition to adjusted entry fees for certain regions, this year’s show has extended entry deadlines and added new categories and disciplines that reflect the way the industry now works.

Entries can be submitted now, with fees increasing after each deadline period. Early entry deadline for the greatest savings is 31st December 2020, with the regular deadline 12th March 2021. The extended deadline is 19th March 2021, and final deadline is 26th March 2021.

Unlike for-profit awards shows such as Cannes and others, The One Club is a non-profit organisation that puts revenue generated from awards entries back into the industry in the form of programs under its four pillars: Educations, Inclusion & Diversity, Gender Equality and Professional Development.

These programs include the annual Where Are All The Black People diversity conference and career fair, ONE School free portfolio program for Black creatives, Creative Boot Camps for diverse college students, Right the Ratio Summits addressing gender equality, Global Educators Summits, Creative Leaders Retreats, Mentor & Creative providing mentorships at agencies for nearly 200 young creatives, bi-annual Saturday Career Workshops for high school students and more.
