FlavourTV, a new culinary and lifestyle content producer and broadcaster, has launched this week. The FlavourTV brand identity system as well and the online content portal were created by Toronto’s LP/AD. Content on the platform is created by the channel itself as well as its many contributors.
“There’s a lot behind this brand identity,” commented Alex Shifrin, Managing Partner at LP/AD. “It’s a nod to classic caricature imagery so there’s a bit of fun there. Because fewer people watch TV and it’s almost become a sign of another era, we wanted to create a brand icon referencing TV’s golden age. You can see that in the old, tube style TV set after which we modelled the logo. The colours represent the five basic flavours, which are sweet, sour, salty, bitter and umami and create a swirl-like test pattern on the logo’s face. It’s been a lot of fun putting all this together.”
