Creative Circle President, Vicki Maguire, has revealed the second half of her call for entries, saying that if you want to celebrate the best of British; the chancers, the diverse, the different - then the Creative Circle is very much open for entries.
Due to industry demand, 2018 also marks the addition of a new category for Music Video including, Best Music Promo Film, Best Concert/Live Film, Best Music Video Production, Best Music Video Cinematography, Best Music Video Editing, Best Music Video Animation, Best Music Video Visual Effects, and Best Music Video Choreography.
Creative Circle CEO Jeremy Green said: “We're extremely excited about our new Music Video categories. Each year we are seeing increasingly exciting and creative work being produced in this area and we’re thrilled to be able to recognise the incredible talent that goes in to Music Videos. Like Vicki says, we want to support the many, who wouldn’t normally get the chance, so we are looking forward to seeing the quality and diversity of work these additional categories will encourage.”
Vicki’s 2018 Manifesto :
Don’t enter the Creative Circle
If it’s just going to sit on your shelf.
Don’t enter
If it’s going to gather dust
Don’t enter
If winning will favour the few.
Don’t enter
If it’s just there to prop up your ego
If you’re in it for the money
If you think you’ve won already
Don’t enter
If you think you have a better chance in a global show
Save your money.
If you believe in championing
The best of British
The work others don’t get
If you’re in it for the swagger
The chutzpah
To celebrate the chancers
The blaggards
The diverse
The different
The ones not like you
If you want to support the many
Supporting those who
Wouldn’t get the chance
Then, the Creative Circle is open for entries.
Maguire’s 2016/2017 ‘We Will Never Be Like Them’ manifesto established the new anarchic creative direction of the Creative Circle. And they’ve not let up with their message for 2018.
The Creative Circle will continue to pledge 10% of all award entry fees and 100% of membership fees to support greater diversity in the creative departments of the future through the Creative Circle Foundation. The foundation is set to launch December 2017.
